Witnica is a Polish western town belonging to the Lubusz Voivodeship and inhabited by approximately 13.000 people.
Witnica used to be a German town until 1945. The Second World War caused placing the region under Polish administration and its ethnical cleansing- all according to the Potsdam Agreement established in the post-war time. The native German inhabitants of Witnica were expelled from the town territory and replaced by Polis citizens.
