Woodstock Festival Poland

Since 2004 Kostrzyn has been hosting the biggest European Musical Festival taking place in summer and called „Przystanek Woodstock”.
The organizer of the event is the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, a Foundation expressing its thanks and appreciation for all the voluntarily support during the January charity actions by organising the musical event.
There are numerous bands from Poland and the world playing on a big and a small festival stages during each Woodstock. Kostrzyn has already been the place of performance for bands like Hey, Dżem, Voo Voo, T.Love, Raz Dwa Trzy, Die Toten Hosen, The Stranglers, Clawfinger, Kreator, Beatsteaks, Zion Train, Twinkle Brothers, Zebrahead, H-Blockx, Skindred, Jahcoustix Dog Eat Dog, Airbourne, Gentleman & The Evolution, Helloween or the Prodigy. There is also an Academy of Art to be found on the festival where many writers, reporters and journalists from all around the world come to face the Woodstock participants to discuss art, dreams and adventures. The Academy usually presents its audience with numerous workshops and happenings under the guidance of artists and lecturers and participated by the Woodstock community as well.
The Festival Woodstock was chosen the best mass entertainment party of the decade in an online Onet website plebiscite „Zlote Kropy Onetu”. More than 15 thousand online surfers had voted for the Most Beautiful Music Event in the World which later the same year was also enlisted as the third most important music festivals by the Havas Sports & Entertainment Organization doing research on 21 markets. Woodstock Festival Poland was also claimed to be one of the best organized festivals and lost only to the oldest in the world British Glastonbury und Norwegian Øya!
In 2012 the president of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski, and Germany, Joachim Gauck, greeted all Woodstock participants from the festival main stage which was one of the most important moments in the history of the festival and at the same time a good reason to visit Woodstock.
