The Nature Reserve Las Morenowy is situated in the commune Bogdaniec, between Witnica and Gorzów Wielkopolski. It was established in 1974 as „Bogdaniec I" and renamed as Nature reserve Las Morenowy in 2011. Its areas is 21,05 ha and its primary function is to protect the so called “grąd środkowoeuropejski” (a central Europe hornbeam) –a deciduous forest dominated by mainly oaks, hornbeams and fertile low beechmast growing there. The Reserve sightseeing should be started in front of the forester’s house in Nowiny. Access is possible via a gravel road, leaving North from the road 132 between Witnica and Bogdaniec, ca. 100 m East of Motylewo. At the stat of a gravel road, there is a clearly visible sign with a red background, informing about the border of a Natura 2000 site. Near the forester’s house (about 500 meters away from the road 132) there is a small car park from which the reserve is only a few hundred meters away. To get to the Nature reserve Las Morenowy one should take the main gravel road in the direction of the asphalt road 132 and then the road just before the crossroads to the right with signs of a horse riding trail painted on some of the trees along it. After ca. 500 m meters down this road there is the edge of the upland to reach again to see a magnificent view of the old beech and oak forest. The trail can be continued along until reaching the limits of the nature reserve. The walk sould take about 1– 1.5 hours. There is a Reserve Bogdanieckie Grądy (former Bogdaniec II) situated in the close neighbourhood of the Reserve Las Morenowy.
