Kirche Maria von Tschenstochau in Słońsk
Dated at 1522 the temple of the Knights of the Order of St John of Jerusalem is nowadays a catholic church with the architecture referring to London cathedral Westminster, especially the church’s tower. There are many unique master pieces to be found inside of the former temple, such as the altar consisting of the 16- th- century- alabaster bas-reliefs set in 6 levels the artistic value of which lays in details like emotions expressed on the sculpture faces. Elaborate vaults are formed into Maltese crosses with numerous paintings, in particular noble line crests presenting close bonds between the family and the Order. There is also a very precious 18th century goblet- shaped ambo made of black marmour and a baroque baptismal font from 1658.
